To grow correctly and achieve their full genetic potential, foals must receive a nutritionally balanced diet adequate in energy, protein, vitamins, and minerals. During a foal's life, there are certain times when it's critical to feed a nutritionally correct diet. At 2-4 months when the nutritional value of a mare's milk may not be adequate to meet the growing foal's dietary requirements, as well as 4-6 months when foals are usually weaned. Vitamins and minerals are essential for correct growth; calcium, phosphorous, and magnesium are vital for bone matrix development; copper, zinc, and manganese for collagen, cartilage, and skeletal tissue development; vitamins A, D, and E for muscle development. Farnam's Growth & Development Colt Supplement supports optimal growth and development in the first years of a foal's life. They are specially formulated to contain balanced calcium: phosphorous ratio for proper bone development, plus 27 other nutrients to support average, consistent growth, immune health, and connective tissue development. Great for sucklings; add to creep feed. This palatable supplement is now available in easy-to-feed pellets!
